
A Perfect Season for Dublin International Handball Club

Sat 6th of February: DIHC vs UCD in Phibelstown Community Centre at 2 pm
First face to face for this 2 teams this season… The atmosphere is serious at warm up – both teams getting ready for the worst not exactly knowing what to expect from each other. UCD needs to points and DIHC is not ready to let them away at home.
Sat 29th of January: DIHC vs HBCLL in Phibelstown Community Centre at 4 pm
The HBCLL – Hand Ball Club Langogne Lafayette – is the club of origin of Roxane Jaffuel who actively played with DI’s ladies teams. “Papa” Philippe Jaffuel – still playing on the HBCLL senior men’s team – had the great idea to come over to Ireland for a quick game.
Sat 29th of January: DIHC vs UCC in Phibelstown Community Centre at 2 pm
First game of 2016 for both team – the students from UCC came to visit DIHC. The ambiance was good – good few supporters – the game can start. Read More
The 28th and 29th of November in Gormanstown College
The IOHA Cup format has changed since last year… From a round robin tournament to knock-out tournament. This Cup is going to be played over two weekend: a first group phase of 30 mins games and a final stage with full time semi finals on the Saturday and final on the Sunday.
DIHC has engaged 3 teams in the competition this year. The usual Ladies team had to battle against Astra HC, UCD and the newly formed UCC women team. The usual man team – DI M1 – had to race with UCD 2, DCH & Sligo IT. A second man team – DI M2 (the older players…) – also played against Astra HC, UCD and UCC. Read More
Another busy weekend for Dublin International, but this time it’s for the Irish cup.
This season, the Irish cup will be played in two rounds, one in November (this weekend, 28th and 29th of november) as group stages and one in the last week end of February (the 27th and 28th) as play offs. Both events will be hosted in Gormanstown college. Read More

Surprise visit from Dani on Monday the 9th of November.
Dani is 34 years of age and has been coaching handball since the age of 15 and has played in the goals before that. He is originally from Villadolid in the north of Spain but now lives in Leon where he is involved as a coach in Ademar Leon Handball Club – home club of world class players like Entrerrios, Julen Aguinagalde, Carlos Ruesga, Antonio García, Venio Losert, Iker Romero, Juanin García, etc… He started coaching teams in 2007 for Ademar Leon before he was given the task of assistant coach for the season 2012/2013 when Ademar finished 4th in the Asobal League (1st spanish league) and got to participate in the European Champions League. He then became the head coach for 2 consecutive seasons for Ademar while the team played in the Asobal League. Read More
