Saturday we have all been waiting for and 7th round of the Championship in DCU Sports Complex where our hosts were @dublincityhandball.
Our women once again opened handball Saturday at noon. Not a game that we all wanted but our girls are showing improvement in their game and that is what we like to see.No matter how many injuries and missing players they always give their best, but sadly this time wasn’t enough against a very good team of @dublincityhandball as they secured an easy win of 28:14 at the end.
Our Alla picked the Player of the Match award this time.
When the clock hit 14:00 and referees blow their whistles it was the start of another “Clash of the Titans”. We knew that a tough match was waiting for us and that was probably a reason why our boy’s went into a match slowly in the first 10min the score was 5:1 for @dublincityhandball. The first time out by coach Tomas was very needed to wake up our boys to start playing. Few changes in attack and amazing defense with another “Magic Luka” @salacan89 day brought us to a half time with a lead of 9:11. Second half we showed a very good game and also a few very casual moments where our opponents came a bit close but another defensive performance and second half @jestembbartek on goal who locked his goal with amazing few saves which kept us in the lead and final score of 20:28 for our boy’s.
DI boys are still undefeated and they are keeping that first seed very tight.
Magic Luka once again swept that Player of the Match award.
Sadly one bad moment happened when our opponents lost their only goalkeeper at this match after two unfortunate shots on goal ended in his head. We would like to take this opportunity and apologies to @gross_alan_ and wish him a speedy recovery and hopefully see him soon on the handball court.
Now we are turning to the Cup competition that is waiting for us this weekend in Gormanstown 18-19th of March. If you are not busy come and support your team.
