Nicolai Bargin

M18 European Championship in Austria is over and our boys are back in the club full of confidence, good vibes and ambitious to start preparing for the new season and defending our title.

In the tournament, our boys played 7 matches altogether – against Turkey, Montenegro, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Bulgaria and
Great Britain twice. M18 Ireland team to finished 12th in this year’s European Championship in Austria. Great achievement for young Irish players who were experiencing their first important tournament. We are looking forward to seeing continued investment in developing youth handball sections and witness the impact on national handball – being clubs or national team.

The team showed great skills and ambition and we are proud of all boys who were representing Ireland in this tournament. Nicolai, Eoin and Darragh showed great interest and dedication in training last season which paid off. We are looking forward to see them progress further next season and becoming valuable assets for DIHC.

Dublin International would like to congratulate all the M18 players, their coaches, the IOHA on an amazing tournament, and we would like to thanks parents, family, and friends who were there and were a great support to the squad during every match.

IRELAND vs DIHC 30:35

Today our boys played a friendly match against Irish National Team as part of their training camp in Gormanstown. Although boys arrived with just 9 players they put on a great show and won the match 30:35. With a few players not yet back from holidays some new members showed good skills ou our side today and we are very happy they managed to fit in the squad. Piero Forno (Chile), Matija Jelić (Croatia), Julien Nedelec (France) and our long “lost brother” Marius Deac who was out last season due to work obligations are the first newcomers in the team for this coming 2018/19 season. We have lots of time untill the beginning of the season and we are looking forward to working hard for the upcoming season and try to defend our title.
